A BIT ABOUT LILLY WHITE
Lilly White (born Lauren Patton: 20 August 1990) is a rising American pop singer/songwriter from the Washington DC Metro Area. Lilly was homeschooled in a small town outside of DC, she was born second oldest into a very large family (9 children) “I remember growing up my dad would always be jamming out on the guitar some old rock song and my brother would be sitting next to me on the floor with a Tupperware drum set, I guess I never grew up, beause that’s still how I like to make music” Lilly danced ballet growing up and performed in musicals such as“Annie” with a local theatre company. At age 17 she enlisted in the US Army and went on to serve over 5 years on active duty, touring as a casualty operations liaison in Afghanistan, Kuwait and Haiti.
During her time as a Soldier Lilly would sing in the church every week, and competed in many military vocal competitions such as “Operation Rising Star” and “Arcent Idol”. During the earthquake relief for Haiti you could find her playing guitar with Big Kenny from country band “Big and Rich” resulting in herputting together a showcase called “Haitian Idol” for other soldiers to showcase their talents as well. Lilly started seriously pursuing music after she finished her enlistment and moved back to Maryland. There she began working writing and recording herself with the help of a local DJ. This relationship facilitated an introduction between her and mega producer Chucky Thompson (Notorious BIG, Mary J Blige, Nas and Faith Evans) who went on to mentor her for several months in the studio.
In Spring of 2017 Lilly was a semi finalist in the famous “Unsigned Only” songwriting contest with her Hit R&B single “More”. Shortly after she lost her older brother to suicide prompting her to intertwine her music and message in a presentation titled “Beauty from Ashes”. This motivational speaking usic performance has already been debuted with an overwhelming response for more at local middle schools, now high schools. In August 2017 Lilly released her most recent single “Anyway” dedicated to her brother with underlying themes of unconditional love and acceptance.
